🌍 Kicking Off an Exciting New Chapter in Zagreb!
Our international project team came together for the first time on the morning of February 11, 2025, for an inspiring kick-off meeting in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. The event took place at the project coordinator school (Primary School Petar Preradović), where we received a warm welcome from the school principal and a performance by Croatian students featuring dance, singing, and recitations of Croatian poetry.
This gathering brought together not only our project team and the school’s Erasmus student group, but also distinguished guests, including representatives from the City of Zagreb, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology.
Our project coordinator presented the vision behind our work, outlining the project's goals and key phases of mobile application development. Responsibilities were assigned and plans for successful implementation were set in motion. We discussed the role of the students' Council, strategies for motivating participants, managing social media and identifying potential project ambassadors.
We also had the opportunity to hear from experienced Erasmus+ Sport project participants, who shared valuable technical insights into the specifics of the Erasmus+ Sport call and shared practical on how to effectively disseminate project activities.
🚀 Looking ahead, we set our first key milestones:
• Define the key features of our mobile app
• Start planning our first sports challenge for participating students
• Design our project logo
• Launch our social media channels to keep everyone updated on our activities
📅 On February 12, we took a short tour of the host school’s classrooms and learned about the key elements of the Croatian educational system. We were impressed by the students' high level of English proficiency and their openness to communication throughout the visit.
🌧 Despite the rainy weather, in the afternoon we explored some of Zagreb’s cultural landmarks. We concluded the day with a delicious traditional lunch at a cozy old tavern, exchanging reflections before saying farewell.
