Present projects:

  • New low cost membrane for textile waste water treatment.
  • Low cost natural adsorbent based modified membrane for water purification.
  • Zeolite membrane for energy conversion and application.
  • Degradation of active pharmaceutical components from waste stream using polymeric membrane using solar radiation.
  • Novel Packaging materials (POR Calabria) for Intelligent packaging.
  • Valorization of new product of coffee industry for the production and realization of single biodegradable coffee packaging. (PON –POR Calabria 2018)
  • Creating novel photonic glass photocatalytic membranes, for disinfection and advanced oxidation applications.

    • Development of new insulating materials from Natural fibers
    • Development of high density algae separation unit by membrane fouling. (04/2012-08/2016)
    • Development of advanced membrane water purification: fabrication, fouling resistance, and system configuration: Masdar Institute/MIT flagship collaborative project. (05/2016-12/2017)
    • Novel module configurations for high efficiency Membrane Distillation-Project extension”: MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) & MICP Innovation Program (MMIP). Collaborative work on desalination, Photothermal disinfection, nanofiltration, greenhouse water recovery. (05/2016-12/2017)
    • Fouling assessment and mitigation in utility-scale membrane distillation systems for brine management” An International Desalination Company (NDA pending) and Masdar Co. (2016-2017)
