The ID Officer builds the entire module in Moodle (VLE), establishing a coherent and visually accessible learning environment. The ID Specialist enhances complex activities to optimise pedagogy and engagement.
ID Officer tasks:
Create welcome section with greeting message and branded layout
Upload and format the Module Guide
Create Introductory Discussion Forum
Build each week sequentially using the structured layout
Add the Final Thoughts section
ID Specialist tasks:
Review advanced learning components
Improve the design and flow of complex or interactive tasks, e.g.:
Branching scenarios
H5P simulations or gamified activities
Multi-layered forum discussions or reflective projects
Involved Parties: ID Officer (primary builder), ID Specialist (pedagogical enhancement)
Useful Tools: Moodle 4.5, H5P, Google Docs, Slide Decks, Synthesia Videos, Audio Files
Conduct a full instructional and technical review of the module in Moodle to ensure clarity, accessibility, and alignment with design intentions.
Sequence of Tasks:
Review navigation, weekly progression, and flow (IDS)
Check functionality of activities, quizzes, submission links (IDS)
Test media (audio/video compatibility) across devices (IDO)
Validate accessibility: headings, alt text, colour contrast, layout (IDO)
Make revisions to text, media, instructions, or settings where needed (IDS & IDO)
Involved Parties: ID Specialist, ID Officer
Useful Tools: Moodle 4.5, Multiple Browsers/Devices, H5P Editor
Ensure that the full student experience in the VLE meets academic and institutional standards before the module is offered.
Sequence of Tasks:
Share the fully integrated module with:
Academic Expert (for all modules)
Link Tutor (to conduct external review for all partner university modules)
Both reviewers confirm content rigour, LO/AP alignment, assessment integrity
Feedback submitted via email or structured form
Minor revisions implemented before final release
Involved Parties: Academic Expert and Link Tutor (if needed), ID Specialist, Schools
