PURPOSE OF THE STUDY PROGRAM

The overall purpose of the Bachelor Degree in Psychology (based on the goals of the American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines for the Undergraduate Psychology Programs) is to support students knowledge base in psychology, develop their critical thinking and research methodology knowledge and skills, verbal and written communication, ethical & social responsibility in a diverse world, and professional development.

The mission of the bachelor's degree program in psychology is to advance psychology as a science and profession through high quality education of those admitted in this level of study; to enhance scientific research in the field of psychology; shape the best civic values ​​among the students; and to implement European standards and internationalization.

LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE STUDY PROGRAM

The intended outcomes of the bachelor's degree program in psychology are for students to:

  • Demonstrate consistent knowledge in recognizing the development of psychology, current trends and significant factors in this development;

  • Recognize, compare, and discuss about psychological schools and theories, and criticism against them;

  • Demonstrate adequate mastery of the terminology in the field of psychology;

  • Recognize research techniques in psychology and demonstrate adequate preparation in formulating adequate basic research proposals in this field;

  • Recognize and respect ethical standards in research and relation to others;

  • Work in teams and respect human diversity;

  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of application of psychology in daily life;

  • Demonstrate an adequate level of knowledge of interdisciplinary issues and topics.
