We are thrilled to extend an invitation to you for the V LAMPS meeting, scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 1, 2024. This event will be hosted at the Auditorio Mario Benedetti, located within the Torre de las Telecomunicaciones in Montevideo, Uruguay. On behalf of both the LAMPS Founding Members and the Organizing Committee, we are excited to welcome you to this significant gathering. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet with you all in person in the vibrant city of Montevideo.

The objectives of the meeting are in line with the long-range goals of LAMPS, and include:

• To strengthen a collaborative network of researchers with common interests in analytical platforms  used in metabolic profiling studies for clinical diagnostics, food quality and safety, plant improvement, new compound discovery, among others. 

• To provide manufacturers with an opportunity to contribute to the development of facilities and to export this template to different Latin American countries. 

• To identify the interests and needs of local industries and institutions in order to spur projects of great impact.

• ⁠To identify research groups from Uruguay and Latin America interested in promoting the metabolomics field forward.

• To evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the local capacity and formulate strategies accordingly to build NMR and MS facilities in Latin America.

• ⁠To train and motivate undergraduate and graduate students in the use of advanced NMR and MS techniques in the metabolomics field.
