About Us

We are a group of four women currently enrolled at The University New England’s online Master of Social Work program. As advocates for social justice and human rights, we firmly believe all people have the right to live their lives free from discrimination.

We came together on a class project in which we were to create an advocacy site for Transgender Rights. We have done extensive research on transgender rights and have learned the various obstacles faced by transgender individuals every day. In developing the website, we have also learned that with the help of advocacy groups and community outreach, transgender rights have come a long way, and more is being done to protect transgender individuals from discrimination. During the course of project we have reached out to local political figures to gain insight into and understanding about their views on transgender rights, to learn more about what is being done to ensure that transgender individuals are treated with respect, and to share our belief that transgender individuals must no longer be barred from receiving rights and protections granted to them as human beings.
