Susan D. Smith Bursary 2023

"This health professional bursary was created in honour of Susan D. Smith, a former Vice President of Hamilton Health Sciences. When Susan retired, the bursary was put in place to honour exceptional leadership and long standing service at Hamilton Health Sciences."

"This award was introduced in 1996 in recognition of contributions made by Margaret Charters, a nursing leader and Administrator at the Hamilton Civic Hospitals.  The recipient chosen should possess traits of a distinguished nursing leader, with passion, strong clinical reasoning and problem solving, as well as a patient and family-centered approach to care. The recipient is a respected member of their interprofessional team, a role-model and driver of the behaviours we value as part of Continuous Quality Improvement."
