Precepting Nurse Practitioners Videos

Preceptorship is a valued mentoring experience between student learners and experienced health professionals. Preceptors play a vital role in the development of critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills and clinical management among nurse practitioner students through personal instruction, supervision, and role modeling. The following videos provide guidance to new and novice preceptors to further enhance their teaching abilities. These videos can also be used in the education of nurse practitioner students to assist them in understanding expectations of preceptors and to grow in their own abilities as future preceptors. The videos listed below are YouTube videos with closed captioning for increased user accessibility. Each video will play directly from the present screen or may be opened in a separate window for viewer use. Access to the Faculty Guide handbook is provided below each video.
