Myrlene Reid
Hi, I'm Myrlene Reid, and welcome to my ePortfolio! The creation of this ePortfolio is to publish my work from various courses taken throughout the Learning, Design and Technology Master's program at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Each tab within this ePortfolio will exemplify how my work aligns with the standards and expectations of an Instructional Designer.
In my experience as a Special Educator, I have worked with students with differing learning disabilities for the past six years. During this time, a passion was sparked for discovering programs to provide greater access to equitable education, help students work through academic frustrations, and achieve desired educational outcomes. Transitioning to the field of Instructional Design allows the continuation of this work through the design process to create a variety of learning, training, and instructional content.
Under this program, I aim to design meaningful instruction that reaches a broad band of individuals with varying needs and capabilities. My future goals are to work with not only students and teachers like myself but professionals in various sectors of the world. I plan to transition from the classroom and work in business and industry training after completing this program. I aim to ensure that each learner has the tools and resources to achieve mastery. Every learner deserves equal access to learning content. Through this degree, I aim to help bridge that gap for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
