...represents MGSA in all dealings related to the club, including within club meetings and among faculty and other organizations, designates committee heads and members.
Statement from current president: "My time as MGSA President has been a rewarding and fun opportunity to learn the skills of leadership and organization. It is not always easy to step up and take charge, and this role allowed me to exercise that muscle in a safe and encouraging environment. It is likely that we all will be thrust into leadership roles at our jobs one day, and so, I am thankful my first leadership experience was alongside my friends. I am taking away from this year stronger listening skills, more awareness of what goes into organizing events, and a feeling that I made the graduate experience at UNCC a little better."
...supports the president and oversees all committees as an ex-officio member.
Statement from current vice president: "Serving MGSA has taught me so much about the bureaucracy within the department and the university as a whole. I feel so much more prepared for my future career having learned how to navigate many different situations."
...handles the financial dealings of the club, including managing agency funds and submitting grant requests.
Statement from current treasurer: "In my time as treasurer for MGSA, I have been able to learn a lot more about office politics and bureaucracy. These may not be the most interesting skills to learn about, but learning these things in the rather safe environment of a graduate student club is much easier than learning it once you end up in a job in either academia or industry. On top of this, MGSA has exposed me to far more opportunities in the department than I would have otherwise been exposed to. Overall, becoming an officer doesn't actually take up all that much time out of your week, but comes with many benefits and advantages that you might not otherwise see in grad school."

Statement from current secretary: "I feel like I've gained a lot by working with the MGSA for the past two years. I've learned a lot about organizing events, and gained a lot of experience in coordinating with large groups of people. I think that, in addition to helping the graduate student community grow here in the math department, I've gained a lot of useful skills that will make me more competitive in the job market and help me in my future career"
...organizes events and delegates responsibilities as necessary to ensure events run smoothly; i.e. Pi Day, Game Nights, GLC and the Graduate Research in Mathematics Symposium.
Statement from current event manager: "Running events can be fun and stressful at the same time. I've gained a huge sense of appreciation for people who put on events all the time. But I've also experienced a great feeling of joy seeing the vision be realized and seeing success because of all the people who came together to make it happen. It really is so special."
...serves as general committee members or assists officer roles including Event Manager, Treasurer or Secretary
Statements of current members-at-large: "As a member-at-large, I really enjoyed contributing to this association and seeing the positive impact it has on UNCC students. From game nights to alleviate stress, to larger events like GRiM and Pi Day, it is clear that MGSA is very important to the math graduate students. Even serving MGSA in a smaller role, it was very rewarding work. I am very proud to have served my fellow math students through the MGSA!"
