From the beginning, our group decided to meet each Tuesday of the week.
Meeting dates:
9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/17
Our method of decision making was purely democratic. During our zoom meetings, we would discuss our objectives together and work towards completely them collectively. Everyone was able to voice their thoughts and opinions in a respectful manner, and the group would listen.
Our group has shown strength in collectively working together, but when it came time to assign roles for creating our website we utilized our action chart to do so. This created accountability and deadlines for our group. Even so, we have shown lenience with our deadlines through understanding and communication.
Our discussion of group norms was casual and respectful. Due to our group lacking in any "gold" personalities, no one felt the need to establish harsh expectations. We all agreed to communicate utilizing a text group chat and during our zoom meetings each week. We enjoyed discussing our colors and bonded over our similarities and differences. After creating our group chant about our name, "Team Brown," our group created a better bond with each other through humor and conversation.
In Chapter 1 of the textbook, Communicating in small groups: Principles and practices., there is a discussion on what makes a group or a team. Groups tend to interact only on the level to divide responsibilities while teams do more collaboration. Teams coordinate working together to complete their objectives. Like the name of our group implies, we view our group more like a team. From the beginning, our "Team" has focused on collaboration and has never left a team member to work on something alone except when necessary (i.e. group reports and assigned website sections).
