FAQ
Common Questions
When should I meet with my Peer Academic Leader?
Requirements can vary by your course enrollment, admission status, financial aid, etc. Check the Program Requirements section to see details.
If you still have questions, please email our Program Director Susi Krulewich at krulewichs@umkc.edu
How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled through UMKC Connect!
If you need help navigating connect you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Contact us'
Will my appointments take place online or in-person?
The default mode for appointments with your PAL will in-person meetings, occurring in the Peer Connection Lounge (ASSC 2nd floor). We would love to meet you in-person whenever possible but understand that some students may not be to attend on-campus meetings. If you require Zoom meetings and do not see Zoom listed as a location option for your assigned PAL, email us to require a Zoom meeting: umkcpalprogram@umkc.edu
I am interested in campus leadership. How can I become a Peer Academic Leader?
We are not currently recruiting for Peer Academic Leaders. Our general application will re-open in mid Fall 2023. Occasionally we do a small recruitment push in Spring terms to fill open spots. Those opportunities will be communicated through our RooGroups email newsletter and on our Instagram @umkcpalprogram
In the meantime, establishing a strong relationship with your current Peer Academic Leader, FSE Instructor, and/or Academic Advisor can help you become a competitive applicant.
