Organizations Official Name
The official name of the organization is the Mizzou Black Creatives at the University of Missouri. It may also be referred to as MBC.
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of Mizzou Black Creatives is to foster creative empowerment among Black creatives by offering a platform for artistic expression, providing various opportunities to showcase their skills, offering artistic services to the community, and promoting academic student success. In order to network, share ideas, and provide a support system for the arts, we bring together African-American students and people who are interested in African-American art and design. Through a variety of programs and events hosted throughout the fall and spring semesters, this organization also educates the MU campus about the past, present, and future of African-American art and design.

We agree to abide by all regulations described in the Guidelines for Recognized Student Organizations, all University policies, in addition to all federal, state and local laws.

This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, protected veteran status, and any other status protected by applicable state or federal law. As used in this policy, the word “sex” is also inclusive of the term “gender”.

Officer Selection Process
All members possessing a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher and have at least 1 full semester of membership are eligible to apply for an executive position. Others non-student members, such as faculty, alumni, professionals, etc., may be members, but only as non-voting associate or honorary members. Officers will be voted on at the end of the academic year for the following year.
Officer Expectations
President
To initiate and establish meeting content, location, & times; act as a liaison between organization, advisory board, university, and national directorate; coordinate with other officers and members to confirm professional development experiences, team building exercises, hosted events, outreach initiatives, and all stages of event planning; share the responsibility of banking procedures and work closely with the treasurer to appropriately complete transactions; ensure all requirements of the University and national directorate are met and reported as necessary; provide leadership that upholds university standards and pillars; provide leadership that fulfills the purpose of Mizzou Black Creatives.
Vice-President
To support the President in all capacities of expectations; facilitate general body meetings and guide the flow of executive discussions; provide leadership that upholds university standards and pillars; provide leadership that fulfills the purpose of Mizzou Black Creative; execute the marketing plan created by the executive team to engage potential members and campus community via social media.
Officer Removal
Grounds for removal include the inadequate fulfillment of aforementioned duties or the violation of regulations described in the Guidelines for Recognized Student Organizations, University policies, or any federal, state, or local laws.
Advisor Expectations
The organization must select one faculty or staff member (at least 75% FTE) to serve as advisor. Will be the primary source of contact should we encounter anything that we have never seen or done before.

Amendments
Amendments to the Constitution must be submitted to and approved by the Coordinator for Student Organizations before they become effective.
