MBC creates art alongside children in the community on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Orr Street Studio Community Service Event in Columbia, Mo. The attendees took home their artwork afterwards.
At this event, our members painted, designed, and talked over a smorgasbord of drinks in the Gaines-Oldham Black Culture Center.
Our team partnered with Orr Street Studio to allow people of all ages to unleash their creative spirit.
We spent a day at Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School, decorating the classroom doors with festive holiday designs.
Mizzou Students work on their art at the Sip, Paint, Vent event in the Black Culture Center. The event took place on Oct. 19th at 5:30 p.m. and had the biggest turnout of any MBC event.
N'Ya Fritz and Terrinea Taylor work on collages during the Orr Street Studio Community Service event, which took place on Nov. 12 at 12:30 p.m. This event included people of all ages coming together to make art.
N'Ya Fritz and Shayla Blissett organize supplies to decorate teachers doors at Alpha Heart Louis Elementary School. The door decorations were put up on Dec. 6 during the Deck The Halls event.
"It is crucial [to have a group like this]. I was so thrilled when I got the email from another one of the members asking if they could use one of our studio spaces for a meeting. And we immediately worked it out so that it was possible. And I think [about] this on several levels.
