INTRODUCING OUR ICOG-ITA 2024 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Professor Ir. Dr. Rosalam Hj Sarbatly is a Professor the Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and current Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of the university. He holds a PhD in Membrane Technology from the University of Bath, UK, a master's  degree in Environmental Engineering and a first degree in Chemical & Process  Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is a Professional Engineer with a  Certificate of Practice, a Member of the Central Committee of the Malaysian Membrane  Association, an Associate Member of IchemE and an Editorial Member, Journal of  Membrane Science International. 

Professor Ir. Dr. Rosalam is a renowned Malaysian researcher specializing in membrane and nanofiber technology for water treatment and various other applications. His expertise has earned him numerous awards, including the Top Research Scientist of Malaysia 2020 and the Sustainable Award 2021. He was also a finalist for the Global Sustainability Award in 2021 for his innovative work on water and energy production. Professor Ir. Dr. Rosalam is a prolific author, having published both popular and academic books. His most recent popular book, "Hikmah-unfolding mysteries of the universe, Signs, Science, Stories," was published in 2023 by Partridge Singapore. His academic textbook, "Membrane Technology for Water and Wastewater Treatment in Rural Areas," was published in 2020 by IGI Global USA.

In recognition of his expertise, Professor Ir. Dr. Rosalam has held numerous prestigious positions, including Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Minister of Education and Innovation of the Sabah Government and a panel consultant for Petrochemical Advisory Services to the Sabah Oil and Gas Devolution Authority (SOGDC). He is also the founder and former Executive Director of UMS Oil & Gas Sdn. Bhd., a company specializing in professional TVET programs. Dr. Rosalam's innovative spirit extends to his social research, where he has introduced a rural engineering and agriculture innovation project in Beaufort Sabah. This project incorporates zero waste technology into agricultural activities, promoting sustainable rural agriculture.

Dr. Ximeng Liu is a Professor in the Institute of Flexible Electronics, Northwestern Polytechnical University. He received his B.Eng. (Hons.) degree and Ph.D. degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2016 and 2020. He worked as a research fellow in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, NUS from 2020 to 2023. His research interests focus on the flexible electrochemical energy storage and conversion fields. He has published over 50 papers. The total citation is around 5000 times and the h-index is 30. In recent five years, he has published 12 papers as the first author or corresponding author in top international journals, including Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Energy Letters, etc.
