The Oil and Gas Programmes at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sabah

The Oil and Gas Engineering Programme delves into various aspects of the oil and gas industry, spanning from exploration to midstream activities. It encompasses field development, hydrocarbon production, transportation, and field management. Students engage with physics, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering principles to address industry-related challenges. Alongside technical skills, emphasis is placed on fostering soft skills for teamwork and problem-solving across multiple disciplines.

The curriculum focuses on designing, operating, and managing systems for locating, extracting, processing, and refining crude petroleum and natural gas. This includes drilling systems, refining facilities, storage, transportation, environmental considerations, safety protocols, and economic aspects. The program offers hands-on experience tailored to meet industry standards and involves industry engagement through advisory panels, guest lectures, field trips, networking events, and industry-backed student projects.
