Dr Zamhar Ismail has been an academic at Universiti Malaysia Sabah since 2000. His field of expertise is Information Systems, specifically the usage of Action-based Research for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects.

He believes that ICT research should not only provide academic and technical solutions, but also empower people to bring about positive change in their society. An avid gamer, he is currently utilizing Action Research for computer game-based projects that attempt to bring positive change to the local community. His research and projects have also garnered positive support from the local community in Labuan, Malaysia.
