Biography:
Dr. Rama is a globally recognized researcher and Senior Assistant Professor in Chemical and Energy Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), with over 20 years of experience spanning academia, industry, and advanced research. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Process Control) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, following his Master’s from IIT Kanpur and Bachelor’s from Andhra University, India. He also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for six years. He is an internationally acknowledged expert in process modelling, uncertainty analysis, and evolutionary optimization. His work focuses on developing intelligent and robust solutions for complex, multidisciplinary systems, particularly in energy, environment, and sustainability domains.
With an exceptional research portfolio of 294 publications, over 10,000 citations (Scopus), and an h-index of 60, his work is widely recognized for its impact—85% of his publications appear in Q1 journals. He has been listed among the Top 2% of the World’s Most Influential Scientists (Stanford University) since 2021 and is a recipient of the Publons Top 1% Global Peer Reviewer Award. Dr. Rama plays a significant leadership role in the global academic community, serving as an Associate Editor for Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio) and the International Journal of Energy and Water Resources (Springer), in addition to editorial positions across multiple high-impact journals. He has reviewed over 500 manuscripts and contributed extensively to scholarly publishing as editor and advisor. He is also a prolific contributor to academic literature, co-authoring the Elsevier book “Optimal State Estimation for Process Monitoring, Fault Diagnosis, and Control” and serving as editor for numerous international publications across Elsevier, Springer, and CRC Press.
