Looking to build community during your training? We invite all residents and fellows to join one (or more!) of our optional social groups based on your interests and identities. Whether you're a foodie, part of the LGBTQIA+ community, an international medical graduate (IMG) or an ally wanting to connect with peers, there’s a space for you. All are welcome—come as you are!
Residents and fellows interested in starting an affinity group can contact Le Que Heidkamp and Christy Illig at gme@umn.edu for more details.
Introducing the new GME DEI Advisory Group’s new “Foodie Friends” WhatsApp group!
The goal is to check out different restaurants across the Twin Cities while having fun eating delicious food and sharing stories together on the fourth Wednesday at 7pm of each month. Restaurants will range from hole in the wall to fancy (z.umn.edu/foodiefriendrestaurants)! Though the group includes those who work in health care or education, everyone is welcome. Just come hungry. Cost will be on your own, but expect apps to be shared widely from us and others.
Join us on WhatsApp group (z.umn.edu/foodie) and share the group with others.
Join the LGBTQIA WhatsApp group to stay connected. Pass this along to anyone you feel would want to join or help out and reach out to Teekz Yenpasook with any ideas or questions.
We are a group that helps IMG healthcare professionals orient themselves in the new US environment and integrate them in their new role at the University of Minnesota (UofM).
