Health Professional Services Program (HPSP)
If your struggle with mental health or substance abuse impacts patient care or it is believed that you cannot practice safely, the program is required by law to report the issue to either HPSP Health Professionals Services Program or the state Board of Medical Practice. You are strongly encouraged to self-report to this program so you can work with a case manager to get the help you need and have the accountability for follow-through. HPSP will monitor your progress to determineyour ability to go back to clinical service. Trainees who choose this route will not be reported to the Board of Medical Practice. A program can make a third party report. You work with U Return for the transition back to your training and clinical service.
