Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS): Artinis Medical Systems PortaMon:

The PortaMon is a wearable, wireless NIRS unit designed specifically for muscle research. It uses a Bluetooth connection, which enables for real time analysis. The NIRS is placed on the muscle of interest (most commonly the calf or quadriceps) and concentration changes of oxy-, deoxy- total hemoglobin, and tissue saturation (the percentage of oxygenated hemoglobin) is quantified during rest (baseline) and during a variety of stimuli, most notably exercise.
