Ingredients
1/4 cup red fruit (strawberries, watermelon, or red grapes*)
1/4 cup green fruit (honeydew, green grapes*, or kiwi)
1/4 cup blue or purple fruit (blueberries, plums, or blackberries)
1/4 cup orange or yellow fruit (cantaloupe, pineapple, or mandarin oranges)
1/4 cup tan or white fruit (bananas or brown pears)
1/4 cup orange juice
*Grapes are a choking hazard for young children. Cut them into small pieces.

Colander
Bowl
Sharp knife for adult
Table knife for child
Measuring cup
Spoon
Cutting board
Rinse fruit. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
Put the red fruit in the bowl.
Add the orange/yellow and green fruits to the bowl.
Add the blue/purple and white/tan fruits to the bowl.
Add the orange juice. Stir all the fruits together.
Enjoy!
As you put the different colored fruits into the bowl, talk with your child about what else in the room is the same color.

Encouraging your child to eat a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is good for their health. Dark green fruits and vegetables are good for brain development, red fruits and vegetables help build a strong immune system to fight colds and infections, while orange fruits and vegetables are good for the eyes.
When shopping, have your child find fruits and vegetables of different colors. Let them pick out a fruit or vegetable they have not tried before.
