Radiograph Reading Night
We would like to invite you to a radiograph reading night with Minnesota orthopedic surgery residents. In this session, the residents will take us through how to interpret different radiographs. At the end, we will offer an activity to practice reading orthopedic radiographs with instant feedback from residents. Being tested on your ability to read fracture radiographs is a common way residency programs assess your orthopedic knowledge during away rotations. Whether you are interested in ortho or not, learning to read a radiograph including fractures will likely benefit your future careers. Dinner will be provided to those who RSVP.

Nail Fracture Conference
We would like to invite you to the Nail Fracture Conference, a virtual radiograph reading session hosted by PGY3 and PGY4 orthopedic surgery residents from around the country. June Subspecialty Spotlight - Foot and Ankle Surgery
We are excited to announce our June Subspecialty Spotlight and lunch lecture which will be focused on foot and ankle surgery. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Patrick Yoon, a renowned surgeon in the fields of adult reconstruction/general orthopaedic trauma, as well as foot and ankle reconstruction. June Subspecialty Spotlight - Sports Medicine
We are excited to share that our June subspecialty spotlight will focus on sports medicine. Please join us to learn from Dr. Elizabeth Arendt and Dr. Bradley Nelson.
Dr. Elizabeth Arendt is a professor and vice-chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Her clinical interests include sports medicine, patellofemoral dislocations, knee reconstruction, and much more. Following her fellowship training, Dr. Arendt became the first woman to join the orthopedic surgery faculty and the second woman from any surgical specialty to join the faculty at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Arendt has also been inducted into the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Hall of Fame for her contributions to the orthopedic sports medicine specialty.
Dr. Bradley Nelson is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Medical Director and physician for UMN Gopher Sports, and also practices at TRIA Orthopedic Center. His clinical interest in sports medicine is supported by his work with the Gophers as well as the team physician for the Minnesota Wild Hockey team and his presidency of the NHL Team Physician Society.
