Curriculum Committee

The charge of the OLPD Curriculum Committee is:

To develop and recommend policies and provide leadership and guidance on educational issues of concern to faculty, students, and administration;
To review and approve proposed courses, programs, and program changes offered wholly or in part in the Department; and
To provide, on occasion, reviews of curricula and programs, both in conjunction with external reviews and as needed in the Department or the College.

International Education Committee

This committee promotes the incorporation of the international aspects of our mission throughout the department. The committee facilitates the Visiting Scholars program, facilitates dialogue about and awareness of international research, and promotes the integration of international knowledge and understandings throughout the curriculum.

Policy Committee

This committee will review the OLPD Faculty and Staff Handbook and (a) making recommendations regarding policies that need to be reviewed by the department because they no longer seem appropriate; and (b) identifying gaps in our policies, such as when the department would pay for software beyond the amount one would use from his/her professional development funds or grants.

This committee will be appointed.

Student Research Conference Committee

Will be convened as needed.

Tenure/Tenure Track Merit Review Committee

This committee will be elected from among tenured faculty to constitute an advisory body to the Department Chair in consideration of annual faculty review.

Undergraduate Education Committee

This committee will facilitate student recruitment, high-quality student experiences, and program innovation and recognition in OLPD’s undergraduate programs. They will work with the Graduate Coordinators to identified qualified students to serve as teaching assistants and advisers. They will nominate students for awards and work with CUGS to facilitate internal awards process. Additionally, they will collaborate with others in CEHD to lead the transformation of OLPD’s undergraduate curriculum.
