The 10,000 Families Study (10KFS) is searching for families to come on the adventure of understanding the mysteries behind families’ health!
The study is led by experienced University of Minnesota researchers from the School of Public Health and the Medical School and it is also supported by the Masonic Cancer Center. This study looks to understand why some families live longer and healthier than others, and how risk of illness can be transmitted through generations. It looks to see what roles genetics, lifestyle, and environment play in the family’s health.
All families are welcome - from different races, ethnicities, and health statuses living in urban, suburban, and rural areas. It is important that cancer survivors and their loved ones are included in the study too. Including everyone will allow discoveries to advance healthcare and public health for future generations. The 10KFS team is committed to sharing their findings with the Minnesota community and to hear its feedback.
See if your family is eligible at z.umn.edu/CancerConference and learn more by visiting 10kfs.umn.edu or contacting the study team at tenkfs@umn.edu or 612-301-2726.
