Resource: How to hire
Your HR representative will have standard onboarding procedures. In addition to this onboarding, work with your team to develop an onboarding for the team that the new employee will be joining. Setting up introduction meetings with key staff that the employee will be working with can be helpful to ensure the employee will get the information and connections they need to feel welcome and supported.

As indicated in the Supervisory Development Course, performance management occurs all year long, not just in annual reviews. Good performance management occurs at regular intervals with ways to coach, mentor, and support employees, while also giving corrections as needed.

Offboarding occurs when an employee leaves voluntarily. Your HR representative can discuss offboarding practices in your unit. If you are considering dismissal that is not voluntary, be sure to connect with your HR representative.
