The Masonic Cancer Center Events Team supports annual events and largescale activities. The team is housed under Community Outreach and Engagement and is located at CCRB. An overview of the team and ways that they can support your needs are outlined below.
The guidance here answers common questions for events at MCC. There are many unique components for each event, so this list is not all encompassing. If you need additional support, please reach out to the events team for a consultation at mccevents@umn.edu.

Audiovisual Support
RFSS hired an A/V technician to support event needs at no additional cost (as of March 2025). Advanced notice is required to utilize this service. Be sure to include these details in your RFSS space request.
Alternatively, we frequently hire Joel Westacott for A/V needs: joel.westacott@gmail.com
Most venues offer A/V packages when using their space. Connect with mccevents@umn.edu if you need additional advice.
Ordering Food & Beverages
Gopher Hospitality is the exclusive caterer at Huntington Bank Stadium
SkyLakes/M Food Co is the University's in-house catering (no permits necessary when using them as the exclusive caterer)
See Resources section below for non-University recommended caterers.
Permits
Food Permit (UM1863) is required whenever you are not using SkyLakes and should be submitted to bcd@umn.edu for approval. Send to rbmsevnt@umn.edu if using RFSS space once approved.
Alcohol Permit (UM23) is required whenever you are providing alcohol and should be submitted to orm@umn.edu for approval. Send to rbmsevnt@umn.edu if using RFSS space once approved.
Marketing My Event
Work with MCC Marketing & Communications on more specific needs by reaching out to mcccom@umn.edu.
Registration
For events without a registration fee, we suggest using Google Forms or Qualtrics
If your event registration form collects Protected Health Information (PHI), you must use Qualtrics
For events with a paid registration fee, we suggest using DORS. The Events team may be able to help with this, please reach out to learn more.
Alternatively, you can use Ticketing Services through Northrop (for a fee).
For events less than 100 attendees, with fewer than 10 speakers, please request assistance from the MCC Administration Team by contacting mccadmin@umn.edu.
For larger events, please contact the MCC Events Team by contacting mccevents@umn.edu.
Please note that working with either team requires advance notice. The more notice the better. The larger the event, the more notice is needed and is subject to availability of the teams. As an example, most events larger than 100 attendees are planned 8 - 12 months in advance.
Please review some of the guidance provided in the Resources and Templates tabs for additional information or set-up a brief consultation by reaching out to the Events Team at mccevents@umn.edu.
