Learn to archive collections of media representations related to a theme.

1. Read the resources on archiving as a scholarly activity and research activity. Students should pay attention to archival actions like naming an object, assigning tags, writing descriptions, etc.

2. Complete a Google (or Excel) sheet for metadata planning. Use the Student Archiving Guide (see below) for this work. Note the importance of paying attention to the following:

  • name of artifact, persuasive intention, media type, publication title, alternate title, publication date, description, technology keywords, marketing keywords, general keywords, classification, allusions and responses, related authors (editors and publishers), location, use/HCI platform, source/web address...

3. Archive (register and submit) your artifacts (see below).
