Youth development programs are in a unique position to provide equitable spaces and opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth. It is essential for all young people to find safe and affirming spaces in which they can present their authentic selves without fear of retribution.

The University of Minnesota’s Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life is the university’s main office promoting education, advocacy, outreach and support for LGBTQ+ people and has many resources available to the public.
OutFront Minnesota's mission is to create a state where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment or prejudice.
GLSEN Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network. Great resources including the Minnesota School Climate Survey. Their goal is for every student, in every school, to be valued and treated with respect, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
