Focus of my group: Members of my group have broad research interests, including optimization, sampling, mean-field control and games, quantum simulation, open quantum systems, quantum error correction, and related areas.
Postdocs:
Research interest: My current research focuses on leveraging quantum dynamics to solve scientific computing problems arising in both quantum and classical systems. In particular, I study the mathematical properties of dissipative quantum dynamics and perform numerical analysis of dynamics-based algorithms for efficient computation and state preparation.
Research interest: My research focuses on the mathematics of quantum information, particularly quantum algorithms, topological phases of matter, and quantum error correction. On the algorithmic side, I am interested in quantum algorithms for linear systems, differential equations, quantum simulation, and related computational problems. On the more structural side, I use ideas from algebra and topology to study topological phases of matter, quantum error-correcting codes, and their connections to fault-tolerant quantum computation.
Graduate student:
Research interest: I am interested in probability theory and stochastic calculus, and their applications to stochastic optimal control, mean field games, and mathematical finance.
Research interest: My current research interests are broadly in sampling, optimization, and statistical methodology for high-dimensional and hierarchical latent-variable models. In particular, I am interested in understanding the theoretical behavior of sampling and optimization algorithms, including their convergence and stability, and in developing methods that exploit geometric or distributional structure in the underlying statistical model.
Research interest: Stochastic analysis, machine learning.
