Kirk Turrentine

Introduction

My name is Kirk Turrentine, and I am currently a pre-engineering student at Washtenaw Community College. As an undergraduate, my major is Computer Engineering and I will be transferring to UM in Fall 2018. I am extremely interested in A.I. and other emerging technologies, human/computer interaction, and design. I have been afforded a great opportunity this summer through the UM Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program, of which I was accepted into, and connected with Dr. Violi and her research group. The work I am doing pertains to nanoparticles and specifically the formation mechanisms of soot precursors in combustion environments. Using a a software suite comprised of Molecular Dynamics and several other computational plug-ins, I am running simulations on an atomistic level, which are designed to give us insight into the formation processes at work. My email address is: turrenk@umich.edu if you wish to contact me.
