Welcome to the U-M CourseShare program! We are thrilled that you are interested in studying a less commonly taught language!
The University of Michigan offers 67 languages but there are several that we do not. If you are interested in languages and language classes that we do not offer here at U-M you can take courses through the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) CourseShare initiative.

To support and sustain students' learning of less commonly taught languages, the Big Ten Academic Alliance established the CourseShare program in 2005. Students can take less commonly taught language courses offered at other BTAA institutions from a distance, to fulfill their academic and professional goals. Through the CourseShare program, instructors can diversify curriculum offerings and preserve specialized courses by teaching students from other BTAA institutions.
The participating BTAA institutions are the University of Illinois, Indiana University, University of Iowa, University of Maryland, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Rutgers University-New Brunswick and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
