Easy
Starting indoors
Choose container of at least 1.5 ft deep for root development with adequate drainage. Plant radish seeds 1/2 inch into soil, approximately 4-6 inches apart. Cover loosely with soil & water thoroughly. Water regularly or about every 2 to 3 days in dry conditions until 4 to 5 leaves appear on sprout. After that, reduce watering to as needed. Container best kept outdoors for optimal growth
Direct sowing in garden
Plant 4 to 6 weeks before expected last frost. Direct sow about 1/2 inch into soil, approximately 4 to 6 inches apart. Cover loosely with soil & water thoroughly. Radish plants should mature for vegetable harvest between 40 and 60 days. To grow for seed, leave some plants growing beyond vegetable stage
Easy
Goes to seed early to mid summer with a propensity to bolt. Seed pod will form once flowers fade. Once pods turn brown & dried, cut off pod stalk & gently shake or rub pods to release seeds. Separate from chaff and store in a cool, dry, dark space. When stored correctly, seed generally viable for up to 5 years
