Starting indoors

Sow about 6-8 weeks before average last frost date. Cover seeds lightly with soil & keep moist at 60F. After sprouting a grow light may be required. Harden off seedlings to prepare for outdoor conditions. Will germinate in 7-14 days at temperatures of 50-60F, will germinate quicker at higher temps

Seeds will fall from the flower head. Gently shake seeds into a small bag and store in a cool dry place

• Water Conditions: 💧 No more than 1 inch per week. Over watering can lead to root rot

• pH: 🧪 Neutral to acidic 

• Soil conditions: 🌱 Prefers a variety of soils except for clay mixtures or too rich soil. These may hinder seed production

Summer to fall 

All parts of the plant are edible. 

Amaranth will die in the winter, but readily self-seeds so new plants may pop up in the spring
