Hi! I'm Alison, I graduated from UM's MPH program in 2019. I currently work as a research grant editor at the University of Michigan, specifically supporting proposals that are focused on health services research. Some of my previous roles include program manager for a research coordinating center and clinical trial coordinator in the UM School of Nursing (focused on nutrition for chronic conditions). I am grateful to have had a variety of experience in public health communications and academic research. I'm from Grand Rapids, MI and I currently live in Ann Arbor with my dog, cat, and husband. Her professional passions are related to global health, aging population health, sexual health and wellbeing, and general knowledge exchange from academia/clinic out into the real world. I work to evaluate the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials' leadership development programming and manage their operation plan reporting cycle. I develop evaluation plans that incorporate both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess the quality of programming and its impact on public health officials participating. I am a Research Fellow at the Digital Medicine Lab. I earned my Ph.D. in Biostatistics and Health Data Science from Duke-NUS Medical School in March 2025, and my B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in April 2021.
My research centers on federated and transfer learning for scalable AI in digital health and on developing innovative solutions for broader machine learning challenges.
