Health Informatics Mentors

 Hi! I'm Alison, I graduated from UM's MPH program in 2019. I currently work as a research grant editor at the University of Michigan, specifically supporting proposals that are focused on health services research. Some of my previous roles include program manager for a research coordinating center and clinical trial coordinator in the UM School of Nursing (focused on nutrition for chronic conditions). I am grateful to have had a variety of experience in public health communications and academic research. I'm from Grand Rapids, MI and I currently live in Ann Arbor with my dog, cat, and husband. I like reading, baking, running, and being outside, and I am looking forward to meeting you!

  Ejike is a Business Analyst in the Michigan Medicine Office of Development. In this role he utilizes SQL, DART, Tableau and Business Objects to query donor information from different databases and develop data reports and visualizations for presenting to stakeholders. His passion resides in managing, analyzing and reporting various types of financial information to generate new forecasting trends and insights for donor fundraising potential across the hospital system.

With over 17 years of healthcare experience, I am a Stars Analytics Leader and Subject Matter Expert. My mission is to drive positive change by identifying opportunities, introducing best practices, and implementing process improvements by leveraging data analytics and insights.

I am also dedicated to developing the next generation of healthcare leaders through hiring and mentoring talent.

I work to evaluate the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials' leadership development programming and manage their operation plan reporting cycle. I develop evaluation plans that incorporate both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess the quality of programming and its impact on public health officials participating. Additionally, I collaborate with executive leaders within the organization to understand successes and identify opportunities for growth related to the goals outlined in ASTHO's strategic plan. I have mentored four previous Michigan School of Public Health students. I am passionate about connecting students to my network, sharing industry trends, and empowering them with tips and tricks to ensure they find the best next step for their career after earning their MPH or MHSA. Go Blue!

I am a Research Fellow at the Digital Medicine Lab. I earned my Ph.D. in Biostatistics and Health Data Science from Duke-NUS Medical School in March 2025, and my B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in April 2021.

My research centers on federated and transfer learning for scalable AI in digital health and on developing innovative solutions for broader machine learning challenges.
