Exercise pathways promoting repair and recovery after ischemic injury in hearts and brains

This project focuses on identifying concordant pathways mediating repair, recovery, and regeneration after ischemic injury in both heart and brains

Harrington Discovery Institute (PI: Rosenzweig)

Inhibition of lncExACT1 to promote cardiac function, repair, and regeneration

The goal of this project is translational development of lncExACT1 as a therapeutic target in heart disease by examining the effects of lncExACT1 inhibition in human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes.

R35HL155318 (PI: Rosenzweig)

NHLBI Outstanding Investigator Award Understanding the Cardiac Benefits of Exercise at the Cellular and Molecular Level This proposed research program aims to identify the heart cells affected by exercise, determine the key interactions among those cells and characterize the underlying mechanisms

R01AG061034 (PI: Rosenzweig)

NIH/NIA Role of Activin Type II receptor signaling in age-related heart failure The goal of this proposal is to define to test the hypothesis that Activin Type II signaling increases in aging and heart failure, contributing to the decline in cardiac function.
