This page is far from comprehensive and may not be up-to-date, but it shows what some of our former students have done (are doing) post graduation. RC German alums are working in all sorts of interesting fields from research, teaching and administration to careers in international studies, the creative arts, natural sciences, computer science, and many more.
The biographies below focus on study or career paths that are specifically tied to German and/or living and working in Germany. They show what knowing German can do for you career wise.

Mori Rothhorn
Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience and German (B.A. 2026)
Mori plans on moving to Berlin, hopefully to work for Linden Global Support Services, an organization that provides learning and therapeutic services to international students.
Shannon Chang
Philosophy (Graduate student)
Shannon is living in Tübingen and participating in a study group on "The Philosophy of Neuroscience" at the University of Tübingen.
Peter Smith
STAMPS, Collaborative Piano (B.M. 2024)
Since 2024, Peter has been Assistant Chorus Director at the Nationaltheater in Mannheim. He's been involved in performances of Così fan Tutte and concerts for Advent Christmas and New Years.
Doug McClure
English, German Secondary Education (B.A. 2023)
Doug is teaching German at Swartz Creek High School in Brighton, Michigan. In this photo he's being celebrated as "Teacher of the Month"
Emma Loewenstein
Psychology and Sociology (B.A. 2023)

Julia Ebben
Political Science, International Studies, German, Spanish (B.A. 2021)
After teaching English on a Fulbright in Austria, Julia attained a Master of Science in Politics, Economics & Philosophy from the University of Hamburg and is now working for the Boston Consulting Group in Hamburg.
Zofia Ferki
Creative Writing & Literature, German (B.A. 2021)
After graduating from the UM, Zofia moved to Hamburg, Germany, for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship and started doing stand-up comedy shows there in English and in German. Zofia is co-founder of the Whole Wheat Post, a comedy publication on health and wellness.
Camille Primeau
STAMPS, Opera (B.M. 2019)
After her Senior recital which included German songs by Schumann, Haydn and Weill, Camille moved to Graz, Austria, to embark on her career as an opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and interpreter of contemporary music. Camille also teaches gender studies and diversity at the Kunstuniversität Graz.
Natalie Greifer
History (B.A. 2018)
Natalie completed her M.A. at Cornell University (Paris campus) and wrote her Master's thesis on the German philosophers Adorno and Horkheimer.
Zachary Feldman
German and Arts and Ideas in the Humanities (B.A. 2015)
Zachary went on to get a PhD in Comparative Media and German Studies at Vanderbilt University. He is a curator, writer, and scholar of media art and the visual arts and program curator for the Goethe-Institut New York.

Maraia is teaching at the Fakultät für Bildungswissenschaft

Shawn (Kemp) Raisig
German (B.A. 1999)
After graduating from UM, Shawn moved to Weimar for 2 years where she taughht English at the Bauhaus Universität. She returned to the US to get an M.A. in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) from EMU and has been teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language at the Eberhardt Karls Universität Tübingen since 2003. Here she is (on the right) receiving a teaching prize in 2012.
