We're excited to announce a new project team with intermediate/advanced projects in quantum software and hardware for motivated students who want to pursue technical projects and build knowledge and skills to set them up for success in careers in quantum research and engineering.
Intermediate/Advanced Projects
[Software, ~10 people] Quantum Simulation of the Transverse-Field Ising Model
[Hardware, ~10 people] Quantum Sensor for NMR Measurements in the Earth's Magnetic Field
[Hardware, ~4 people] Experiments on a Nitrogen-Vacancy Center Board
[Hardware, ~4 people] Experiments on a Photonic Entanglement Demonstrator Board
Beginner Track (Quantum Arcade + Python/Qiskit activities)
This is an open track for beginners with to little to no experience to learn the basics quantum computing through Quantum Arcade and other hands-on activities with Qiskit.
Apply at this form by Friday, January 30 at 11:59 PM to be considered for one of these projects!
The QuantUM project team provides students an opportunity to further engage with quantum technology via hands-on education. In the Winter 2025 and Fall 2025 semester, the inaugural project team worked on a Quantum Arcade, featuring classical computer games reimagined with quantum phenomena like entanglement and superposition. The team meets weekly, and is open to students of all majors and experience levels.
