What to do when sick:
Notify your choreographer that you will not be able to attend rehearsal due to illness
If you are feeling sick (and do not have Covid-19 or the Flu) but are well enough to participate in rehearsal, you may come to rehearsal wearing a mask if desired.
With that being said, please take care of your physical and mental health first and foremost!
Arrive at least 5 minutes early
Gives you time to get water, eat a snack, use the restroom
Use the lockers outside the movement studios!
This gives us more floor space (especially once we all have coats with us!)
Check Slack the morning of your rehearsal
See if there are any reminders or changes
Watch the recording from the previous week (even if it's on the bus/walk to rehearsal!)
Minimize side conversations
We want everyone to have fun and chat, but when your choreographer is teaching, give them your full attention
Be respectful and kind to other dancers. This group is for all levels of dancers so expect to dance with people who have no dance experience. If you are not prepared to dance with people who have little to no experience, we encourage you to reevaluate your membership in New Movement. We will not tolerate disrespectful or exclusionary behavior by any dancer.
ALL rehearsals officially begin Monday 9/14

In addition to small groups, New Movement offers production groups in the winter!
What is "Production"?
A montage of several short dances with different styles, all with the same overarching theme (ex: Movie Night, Villians, Colors) performed at New Movement's Spring Showcase
What are Production groups?
Production is less of a time commitment than small groups
Approximately 5 rehearsals in the WN semester for each production dance that you are a part of, with each dance being 45-90 seconds long
1-2 combined production rehearsals before showcase to put everything together and learn the production finale
