M-BRISC

Michigan Biological Research Initiative on Sex Differences in Cardiovascular Disease

Welcome to the University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center's Michigan Biological Research Initiative on Sex Differences in Cardiovascular Disease (M-BRISC) program.  This innovative program aims to increase investigation designed to understand the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease that differentially affect women and factors underlying the health of women.

M-BRISC researchers seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and use the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability. These objectives will be furthered by supporting innovative basic, translational, and clinical research projects that encompass the fundamental biology of sex differences as it applies to cardiovascular disease.
