About Me

Hi! I'm Jerry.

I'm 20 years old and study political science and economics with a minor in writing (duh). After graduation, I wish to be a civil rights attorney and litigate a case in the Supreme Court.

Outside of school, I serve as the President of the Undergraduate Moot Court Team, the Treasurer of the statewide Michigan College Democrats, and the mock trial coach for my high school.

I also used to race bicycles for the University of Michigan, until I got hit by a car. Now, I cycle for fun and occasionally race with the Ann Arbor team.

I have a deep passion for research: I was recently published as the lead author by the Midwest Political Science Association for a paper on Asian social movements, and I'm currently drafting another for publication.

My writing

I've always been fascinated by multimodal forms of writing: treating writing as an activity beyond traditional alphanumeric text on paper.

As such, my writing experiments this semester have taken on this theme of exploring writing in its various dimensions. My first experiment was a proof that instrumental composition is a valid form of writing that ought to be treated as such. My second experiment explored writing as filmmaking and the expression of thoughts via visual stimuli.

Besides exploring multimodal forms of writing, my other writing interests include legal theory, constitutional law, and political rhetoric.
