Great Lakes CoastWatch Satellite Remote Sensing Training
CoastWatch Great Lakes Node/Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory recently held a three-day training course focusing on satellite remote sensing data. During the course, participants were provided with insightful information about Coastwatch data products and the Coastwatch data servers as well as image processing tools and many cutting edge applications for coastal research (CPA, ICE, Hyperspectral Imagery and Altimetry/winds).
I also had a chance to work on a mini project to understand spatiotemporal changes of Chlorophyll across Lake Erie from 2002 to 2017. There are some shortcoming in data availability, but this data product is really useful to better understand the water quality problem facing Lake Erie.
