Social Sciences

LSA's Social Sciences division is home to 12 units, representing a diversity of disciplines that range from Economics to Women's Studies. Graduate students examine complex, interconnected topics, designing ways to use their research to make a positive impact in the world.

Social sciences research examines relationships among individuals, as well as relationships between individuals and their societies. LSA's social scientists study topics such as the healing power of words, how evolution shaped human thought, and how physical spaces can encourage breakthrough ideas.
