During the semester, we meet weekly in small groups to study scripture and pray together. Discussion is facilitated by a GCF member and Scripture is chosen thematically each semester.
This semester we are discussing the book of Acts. We are meeting on Mondays at 7:00 pm (in-person, contact us for more details). We would love for you to join us!
We use the inductive method to understand, interpret, and apply God's Word. This method can be used in corporate or individual settings. It has three key steps and begins with prayer that God would meet us in the Word. You can learn more about this method on the InterVarsity website.
Step 1: Observation
Read the passage and note what it says. Consider the "who, what, when, where, and how?" of the passage as well as things that confused or surprised you.
Step 2: Interpretation
Using your observations from step 1, determine what the passage means. Ask questions of the text and answer them using scriptural context. Consider the implications for the original audience and for us today.
Step 3: Application
Connect the passage to your own life. Consider how God may be speaking to you and what actions you may take in response.
