Graduate Christian Fellowship
A chapter of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Michigan
Who we are
GCF at UM is a vibrant and welcoming community of graduate students, postdocs, and professionals through:
Studying God's word and praying together
Applying God's word in our lives, communities, departments, and campus
Cultivating deep relationships with God and each other
Serving those in need and sharing our hope in Jesus
What we do
GCF at UM connects graduate students, postdocs, and professionals through student-led activities:
Small Group Bible Studies
Small groups are the heart of GCF. Meeting weekly, these groups are a key source of support, fellowship, and study. Learn more
Prayer Meetings
We meet weekly on Saturday evenings for a brief time of prayer for each other and our world. Learn more
Large Group Meetings
We regularly gather as a large group for corporate worship, facilitated discussion, invited speakers, and social events like game nights, outdoor activities, and meals.
Service
We engage campus and the surrounding community with our faith on an intellectual level, as well as train and encourage others to do the same. We reach out to our community through Detroit Service Day, serving breakfast at Safehouse center, and serving meals with L.O.V.E. Thy Neighbor. Learn more
Retreats
GCF hosts a yearly winter retreat and has been joined by the MSU chapter for this event. GCF members regularly attend the annual Urbana conference. We have also collaborated with other campus ministry groups for retreats and corporate worship.
