Goals

The goal of this workshop is to create space for graduate students to share their work and discuss ideas about methods and theory. We also want to build an interdisciplinary community of scholars who are thinking through some of these issues, including considerations about power. A number of scholars have recently published books on intersectionality, and we have funding to purchase these books for the group. We are also planning a mini-conference on November 8th where we will hear from professors and graduate students about their work.

2019-2020 Goals

• Create environments that allow participants to communicate across different disciplinary goals, languages, and conventions
• Provide enriching experiences for both incoming student participants new to intersectionality, as well as opportunities for students in more advanced stages who are more familiar with intersectionality to examine the implications of intersectionality in their own work
