Decades after Kimberlé Crenshaw coined the term intersectionality, researchers still question:
In this workshop, we discussed key intersectionality principles and questions to identify how researchers can incorporate intersectionality frameworks and methods into their research. Drawing on these key principles, participants had the opportunity to critically reflect on their own work and projects through a guided worksheet.
In this session, Dr. Beth Glover Reed presented on Critical Intersectionality and Interdisciplinarity - powerpoint found below. CIW participants discussed how to best approach intersectionality analyses, including paying attention to equity in all phases of research, paying attention to power and its consequences over time, conducting multi-level analyses, taking into account time (history, present, future) and spaces (impact of different contexts).
