• April 24, 2019 Congratulations to Autumn Dutka and Justin Mason for taking 1st and 2nd place in the 2019 UROP year end symposium. Way to go Autumn and Justin! Read Autumn's synopsis of her UROP experience in the CVC Regeneration Core Lab:

"My UROP involvement here was by far the most rewarding experience of my freshman year.

There are numerous discoveries being made in this lab that are truly groundbreaking, like the

development of a Matura platform. I was made familiar with the entire process of making and

testing the microtissues, and was allowed to work hands-on through every step. I was initially

unsure if I would perform well, as I was starting with no experience, but Jeffery Creech was an

excellent teacher! He walked me through every step of each process, and always made sure I

understood what was happening, which made me feel very at-ease and confident moving

forward. Everyone is very friendly, relaxed, and welcoming, making the environment ideal to

facilitate growth and learning. After this year of research experience, I feel confident knowing I

• May 23, 2019 Congratulations to Dr. Jessica Smith for receiving 1st place for her Oral Presentation at the Michigan-Section Junior Fellows Research Day. Dr. Smith has conducted basic science research in the CRCL as part of her fellowship training in OB/GYN. Way to go Dr. Smith!

• July, 2019 Congratulations to Justin Davis on being accepted to University of Toledo Medical School with a full scholarship. Justin worked with the CRCL and Dr. Herron's lab since his undergraduate days in 2014. Thanks for all of your hard work and best of luck in medical school!

• August 2019 Congratulations to Don Hua for completing a CVC -AHA Summer Fellowship with a super presentation at the Symposium! Also-Congratulations to Erin Shiar for completion of the Big 10 Academic Alliance SROP program and presentation at the program end Symposium.
