Making The Most At Michigan: A Guide From Mia to Maddie

Hi everyone! My name is Mia Cohen and I am a senior at the University of Michigan graduating in 2025. I am so grateful for my time at Michigan and want to help make finding your way in Ann Arbor easier. 

Whether you're a proud Wolverine-to-be or just starting to explore what life at Michigan might look like, this site is your one-stop guide to all things freshman year. From figuring out where your dorm is to knowing where to grab a quick bite between classes, I’ve gathered everything I wish I had known when I was in your shoes.

This project started as something deeply personal, a way to help my younger sister, Maddie, prepare for her own Michigan journey. But as I reflected on my time here, I realized that the tips, tricks, and stories I’ve collected could help so many more students, too.

So this isn’t just a guide. It’s a love letter to the University of Michigan, a reflection on the ups and downs of freshman year, and a resource built with care, honesty, and experience. You’ll find everything from dorm and dining hall info to advice from current students, alumni, and even a few words from my parents (because let’s face it - they had some feelings about all of this too).
