Similar to project sponsors however, teams are provided funding and a project from the BME department.
Design Reviewers
Meet with teams a few times each semester
Give an outside perspective to their project.
Provide feedback to help students improve their projects.
Guest Lecturers
Host infrequent lectures about a topic that pertains to the design process.
Example Topics: IP Agreements, market analysis, needs finding, or stakeholder interviews.
Help strengthen student understanding of the content they need to apply in the course.

We are eager to work with a wide variety of expert sources, which include clincians, professors, and companies, who are willing to invest time in working alongside our students throughout the duration of the capstone course and potentially beyond. A clinical or biomedical research problem that:
Is solved with a device
Is real, complex, and open-ended
Has no obvious solution and multiple constraints
Students will apply a structured design process making evidence-based decisions to create a medical device prototype

While working with our students we expect our sponsors to:

- Meet with the design team every 1-2 weeks
- Provide the design teams with resources and usability feedback
- Fund the fabrication and testing of prototypes
- We expect sponsors to commit up to $500 of funding or alternatively work with the teams pro-bono

- Second-highest level of involvement with the program
- Meet more regularly with the teams and are a resource for them to consult for technical feedback
- Contain most of the responsibilities of a Project Sponsor without needing to provide the project idea or funding
Design Reviewers
Design Reviewers
- Individuals who are looking to be involved with and help our project teams every several months
- Evaluate and provide feedback to our teams at predetermined intervals set by the course
Guest Lecturers
Guest Lecturers
Individuals who would like to help the program as a whole and teach students about specific areas of design
Lecture topics can be anything that would be useful for students (i.e. IP agreements, market analysis, field of engineering)
